The house

Villa Gallina — known locally as Hønsehuset, "the hen house" — sits on a small hill in the forest with a lake in front.

It was built in 1852 as a roadside inn for travellers on the old road between Copenhagen and Næstved. Today it is a lunch and banqueting restaurant, serving food drawn from the Danish, Italian and French kitchens.

The forest and Villa Gallina belong to Gisselfeld Kloster, one of Denmark's largest estates.

Private parties

Rooms for up to 80 guests seated, and space for around 180 indoors. Events start from 20 guests, and children under 12 eat at half price. Full menus and prices are on the Danish pages — we are happy to talk them through in English.
